Kathleen Hawkins is an accomplished business consultant, international speaker, award-winning photographer and nine times published author. In 2007, she founded the first chapter of Women on a Mission to Earn a Commission (WOAMTEC), in Heathrow, Florida. WOAMTEC, which has a philosophy of helping women promote and grow their businesses while maintaining their priorities of faith, family and career, has grown rapidly to include more than 70 chapters and over 1,000 members in 15 states. In addition, Hawkins publishes Confident Women magazine, a forum for members to advertise their businesses while offering valuable business information to readers. She also sponsors frequent Confident Women conferences for business women nationwide.
Kathleen previously taught marketing and business courses at a Florida university. Her essays have been published in numerous business and photography journals. She is a contributor to Lake Mary Life magazine, Think Healthy magazine, Rangefinder magazine, Professional Photographer, PC Photo, and American Photo, and she has also been featured several times in PhotoVision video magazine. In addition, she is a three-time first place winner of PPA's AN-NE Award for Marketing Excellence.
Personally, Hawkins is a licensed foster parent and adoptive mother of three. She and her husband Jeff Hawkins are strong advocates of adoption and in 2007 were awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Florida Coalition for Children. She served as a committee member of The Governor's Faith Based Initiative Committee Work Group for Child Advocacy. In 2009, she was accepted as a member of the Compassion Florida Roundtable for the Governor's Volunteer Florida Foundation.
Hawkins served on the Connecting God's Children (CGC) Ministry Board of Directors. CGC represents 28 Central Florida faith-based organizations with a member base of more than 60,000 parishioners. She also is the former Heart Gallery of Central Florida Committee Chair and Community Liaison and continues to play an active role in making a difference in the lives of children through the WOAMTEC Foundation. In the past few years, Heart Gallery portraits taken by Jeff Hawkins Photography have helped over 300 children find forever families.
